Chiapas, seguridad y turismo

Chiapas, one of Mexico's richest states in culture and biodiversity, has recently come under the spotlight due to security issues.

The Current Situation

According to recent reports, the Employers' Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex) has highlighted that there is a black figure of unreported crimes of up to 90.5 percent. This figure, although alarming, should not be interpreted as a complete reflection of the security situation in Chiapas, since it may also indicate a lack of confidence in the institutions in charge of security and justice.

The interior of the sacristy preserves the original construction of a semicircular arch and a continuous barrel vault. In the 18th century, the main altarpiece and the sides were built, as well as the upper and lower choir.
